SECURITY ALERT!!  February 5, 2014

We’ve had cars gone through in the area of Waterstone and Fieldstone overnight, Monday night/Tuesday morning.  The most popular items to steal from vehicles are laptops, iPads, smartphones, GPS devices, and guns.

Crime Prevention

Please remove valuables from your vehicle at night and lock the doors.  If you have a garage, please utilize it.

Please help us look out for suspicious activity

Thefts from automobiles are generally accomplished by walking through the neighborhood at night, pulling on car door handles.   When the suspect finds one unlocked, they rummage through the vehicle checking the areas people are likely to hide valuables.  If the suspect sees what he thinks is a high value item laying in plain view, in a locked vehicle, they may choose to risk breaking the window to gain entry.  Occasionally, they break the window on a vehicle when they see a book bag or some other kind of bag, mistaking it for a laptop bag.  Often the suspect will have a backpack to carry the stolen property in. These suspects may work alone or in groups of two or three.   Please call 911 to report anyone you think may be acting in a suspicious manner.
